Krannert Art Museum‘s first VOICE reading series takes place tomorrow, Thursday, September 28th starting at 7:30 p.m.

Listen to New Work by Authors at the University of Illinois: Krannert Art Museum Presents VOICE this Thursday
The VOICE Reading Series features readings by fiction writers and poets from the Creative Writing MFA Program at the University of Illinois. A new season of readings begins this Thursday, September 28 with a showcase of work by Katrina Gaffney, Liz Howey, and Taylor Micks. The authors will perform their work on the lower level of the museum, in space near the gallery of Ancient Peruvian Art.
The new coordinator for the program, Edgar Garbelotto, set the dates for this year’s readings in collaboration with the museum. “This is an amazing opportunity for students to expose their work to an audience outside their workshop environment,” he said. VOICE Reading Series performances always take place on Thursdays at 7:30 pm, once a month. There are three readers per event, two fiction and one poetry, or vice versa.
In addition to this Thursday’s event, visitors will have a chance to experience VOICE performances on October 26 and November 30. These later performances will be held in the Rosann Gelvin Noel Gallery on the main level, along with a new exhibition of 20th century art from the KAM Collection, Postwar Printmaking in the United States, 1945-1955.
