Free Afternoon Family Concert at Krannert Art Museum on June 27
The University of Illinois School of Music and Krannert Art Museum are sponsoring a free children’s concert with violin virtuoso Rachel Barton Pine on June 27.
Ms. Pine, who began her violin career as a young child, will talk with children and caregivers in attendance about the music she plays and her instrument, answering questions and talking a bit about her work as a professional violinist.
This concert will be a special opportunity for children of all ages to listen, learn, and ask questions about music.
All are invited to the Rosann Gelvin Noel Gallery on the main floor at KAM. The concert will begin at 1pm, Tuesday June 27.
Rachel Barton Pine will give an additional public recital at 7:30 pm, Monday June 26th at the Smith Recital Hall, also free and open to the public. The School of Music will collect donations at the door for scholarships to be used for Chicago Public School kids to attend the Illinois Summer Youth Music program.
