University of Illinois Laboratory High School invites the community to meet 1973 Uni alum Frederick Marx and see his movie Journey From Zanskar, at The Art Theater, Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. Marx will participate in a question and answer session following the movie.
Admission is free for ages 18 and under.
Journey From Zanskar looks at the challenges facing Tibetan Buddhist Culture and features His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The movie is narrated by Richare Gere.
Frederick Marx grew up in Champaign-Urbana and graduated from Uni in 1973 and the U of I in 1978. He is a producer, director, writer and editor with a 35-year career in the film and television industry who has been nominated for both Academy and Emmy awards.
He also produced, wrote and edited Hoop Dreams.
