If you’ve been paying attention to Champaign-Urbana’s hip-hop scene lately, you know that things are brighter than they’ve ever been in recent memory. Of course, T.R.U.T.H and Klevah’s Mother Nature project is a big reason for this, but others like Chase Baby and Randall Mance have been steadily stepping up their game to meet the ever-changing hip-hop standards in town.
A pleasant surprise that came into my email inbox over the holiday was Josi Green, an emcee from T.R.U.T.H’s Paradigm Shift clique, who owns impressive bars and a bright future. For more info on Josi, check out his Soundcloud. His newest project, FOCUS, is due out in March, and in a unique turn of events, will feature lyrics completely devoid of profanity. Bold move.
