I’m a little late on the draw on this program, which started in February, but Jerry’s IGAs around town are now giving you 5 cents back and donating 5 cents to local schools for every re-usable bag you use when shopping at their stores.
For me, it’s not so much the money itself, but what the money says: “we want you to use re-usable bags.” Given the blank looks and annoyance I get from most other chain stores when using cloth bags, Jerry’s is now at the top of my grocery rotation.
