Every year a whole bunch of community entities — the park districts, both cities and the Village of Savoy, U of I Facilities and Services, to name a few — join forces for a huge community-wide clean up of several areas throughout Champaign, Urbana, and Savoy.
Saturday, April 18th will be the 15th annual Boneyard Creek Community Day. From 9 a.m to 12 p.m. volunteers will be sent to Scott Park, Boneyard Creek Crossing, Kaufman Lake/Heritage Park, Savoy Route 45, and Anita Purves Nature Center to pick up litter and remove non-native plants. Afterward there will be educational displays, music, and lunch in Scott Park.
You can register as an individual or with a group. Online registration is open through April 11th, but you can still walk up and register the day of. Check out the website for all of important details.
