The bad news: You won’t be able to watch in person.
You do, however, have the opportunity to submit questions, which you can do here. Ultimately, the questions will be chose by the debate’s editorial board. If you’re looking to see them debate in person, you can travel to Springfield on October 15th or Normal on October 29th.
Illinois Public Media will host an Illinois 13th Congressional District debate between Republican incumbent Rodney Davis and Democrat challenger Betsy Dirksen Londrigan on Thursday, October 18 in the WILL-TV studio located inside Campbell Hall on the University of Illinois campus.
Moderated by Niala Boodhoo, host of The 21st, the debate will feature questions from panelists — Brian Moline (WILL) and Jaclyn Driscoll (NPR Illinois)—as well as constituents of Illinois’ 13th Congressional District. Together, these questions will give people a chance to hear these two candidates discuss the issues affecting those throughout the district, which stretches from Champaign-Urbana west to the Mississippi River and to the Illinois suburbs of St. Louis.
This debate will be broadcast live on WILL-AM 580 and WILL-FM 90.9 on Thursday, October 18 from 7-8 p.m. Viewers can watch the televised broadcast of the debate on Monday, October 22 at 8 p.m. on WILL-TV. Everyone is also welcome interact with the debate on social media via Facebook Live and by using #ILVotes2018.
