Illinois Baseball combines for a no-hitter, the program’s first no-no since 1985

Why not start out the week with a bit of baseball news, shall we?

Here’s a cool thing that happened: Riley Gowens, Ryan O’Hara, and Cole Kirschsieper combined for Illinois Baseball’s first no-hitter since 1985 yesterday at Purdue. Gowens pitched the majority of the game (7.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 6 SO), followed by O’Hara, then Kirschsieper to close things out.

This was the program’s 11th no-hitter, and their first ever on the road. You can watch the final pitch below and read more about the game here.
