HUM detail reissue of Downward is Heavenward

HUM’s 1998 monster of a record, Downward is Heavenward, is getting the reissue treatment. This came to light back in September when frontman Matt Talbott posted an update about the new record and this reissue ahead of his solo living room tour in October and November. The album is available to order tomorrow, Friday, December 21st. Here’s the press release:

Earth Analog Records, the Champaign based label of Hum singer/guitarist Matt Talbott, is pleased to announce the availability of the vinyl re-issue of Hum’s 1998 album Downward is Heavenward. The double album in gatefold packaging and pressed on 180g vinyl also includes three rare b-sides and an optional Jay Ryan limited edition 12”x12” hand screened poster that re-imagines the cover. Each piece also comes with a little signed thank you card from Matt detailing the entirely analog mastering  and lacquer cutting techniques employed at the start of the manufacturing process.

Copies will be available for purchase at www.earthanalogrecords.com starting Friday, December 21. Matt will also be getting some copies to local record stores on Friday as well. Those interested are encouraged to visit Hum’s Facebook page for the most current info. And if you want a copy tonight, Matt’s tending bar at the Loose Cobra down the road in Tolono. He’ll likely have a few copies available there tonight after 7:00. Schlitz tallboy sold separately.
