Summer can be a time of food insecurity for students who count on breakfast and lunch at school through the academic year. Fortunately, there are several locations throughout Champaign and Urbana that provide free meals for kids 18 and under during the summer months. Champaign Unit 4 Schools, Urbana School District 116, and CU Public Health all participate in this program, sponsored by the Illinois State Board of Education.

CU Public Health will offer them out of their location at 201 West Kenyon Road, Monday through Friday, beginning today. Breakfast is 9 to 11 a.m. and lunch is 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
They will also have three mobile sites:
Crestview Park, Urbana
Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning June 11th
Victory Park, Urbana
Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning June 14th
Dollar Tree, 1303 E. Colorado, Urbana
Fridays 2 to 4 p.m.
Sola Gratia will have produce from their farm, pay what you are able
