KAM has several things to be aware of during summer museum visits, whether you are are stopping by to beat the heat and check out the galleries for the first time, exploring new exhibits, or perhaps, even, a frequenter.
Student Art Pop-Up — call for work
The Krannert Art Museum has announced a new opportunity for University of Illinois students that is sure to bring together people from across the university and showcase artists from different majors. Undergraduate and graduate students from any major can submit artwork to be part of an exhibit in the Hood Classroom Gallery during this year’s KAM Fest. If you are an interested student, you can learn more and submit work here. Not a student? Be sure not to miss this year’s KAM Fest on August 30th where you’ll find food, music, art — including selected works from the Student Art Pop-Up. Submissions will be accepted through July 31st.

When planning your visit to the museum this summer, there are construction plans to note. Although the museum will remain open during this construction, be sure to use the Sixth Street entrance (pictured above). Other entrances and the café will be closed during construction. Summer hours are as listed below. Photo courtesy of Krannert Art Museum.
