The Red Herring has a rich history in C-U of being a great meeting place for activists, organizers, artists, and, in more recent times, vegan food lovers. The space has hosted some of the coolest shows that I’ve ever seen in town, Hundred Waters and Julia Holter at like 1:00 a.m. in 2012 stands out as one of the best things I’ve ever seen in C-U.
Without rambling about all of the good times and things that I’ve been provided by the Red Herring, I want to point out that they’ve started a really nice gofundme campaign. The folks at Red Herring are asking for $10k so that they can afford new kitchen equipment and upgrades that will allow them to expand their menu and set up workshops to help the community. It’s simple, it’s easy to donate, and obviously, it’s for a place that has done so much to foster great art, food, and communication in our community.
