In photojournalism, Loyola Marymount University professor Tara Pixley feels that it’s contemporary practices create an imperialistic world view at both individual and institutional levels.
In her upcoming lecture at the Knight Auditorium in the Spurlock Museum, Pixely will discuss those practices as well as her other professional concerns that drive what she calls her “Rebel Vision.” Her lecture will give listeners a more holistic view to understanding media as well as her view of culture and where it intersects with identity.
The lecture, hosted by the University of Illinois Department of Journalism, will be held on Tuesday, March 1st, at 7:00 p.m..
