Green Purpose and Ewe Poo, two of the most innovative companies to hit Champaign County’s “green scene,” will come together on June 18th to host an eco-friendly gardening workshop at the Green Purpose recycling center.
Ewe Poo is a company based in Urbana whose main focus is providing quality organic compost to gardeners and farmers, and Green Purpose is an eco-minded enterprise whose mission is to reduce landfill waste by recycling, reusing and repurposing materials. Together, they will join forces to educate the community on how to improve gardens while preventing organic waste from ending up in a landfill.
This fun, hands-on workshop will teach composting methods for home and community gardens. Other topics that will be addressed include the benefits of using natural compost, the potential hazards of synthetic fertilizers and how to grow and maintain a garden in a small space.
The Eco-Gardening Workshop will take place on June 18th, 2011 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Green Purpose recycling center, which is located at 807 Pioneer St. in Champaign, IL. The price of admission is $7 a person; however, Green Purpose members can attend free of charge. Refreshments will be provided, along with gift bags and a raffle for a gift basket provided by Ewe Poo. Come and learn how to give your summer garden a boost that will guarantee vibrant colors and tasty veggies for the months to follow!
