Girls Rock! C-U just announced that they will be hosting two workshops this summer for girls, transgender folks, and gender conforming folks ages 10 to 14 and 18+.
Girls Rock! C-U’s goal is to “create a culture of positive self-esteem for girls in our community. Teaching girls how to start a band, write a song, record a track, and play a gig are simply the means by which we hope to achieve this goal, as an investment in our future.”
The camps will take place at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center on July 22nd and August 5th. Youth sessions will start at 9 a.m. and end at noon, adult sessions will start at 12:30 p.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m., full tuition will be $25.
