The Landovers, a band formed during the pandemic by Nicholas Stine, have released their EP, Labor Dazed today. The band is made up of Clayton Deering on pedal steel guitar, Charlie Harris on bass, Cody Jensen on piano/organ, Emily McKown on backing vocals, and Dave Pride on drums, and Nicholas Stine on vocals. The album was recorded to tape at Rose Bowl Tavern during the period of closure in the midst of the pandemic.
Labor Dazed is four tracks chronicling current world affairs, the mundaneness of life, and heartache. It beckons back to old-time country music and honky tonk such as Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, and Patsy Cline — I’m a sucker for some pedal steel, and this record is loaded with some wonderful pedal steel work. Highly recommend checking these songs out.
