I hate winter so much. The cold and the dark might as well be a Vulcan nerve pinch. Last night, when it felt like 2ºF, I met a friend for dinner at Everyday Kitchen. It was nice and warm and cozy inside the restaurant. Leaning into the warm coziness, I ordered the chicken pot pie ($15). It was delicious. The pastry crust was buttery and indulgent, but the real star ingredient was the rotisserie chicken.
My friend and I also shared the seasonal dessert, which is a massive hunk of carrot cake ($7). It had raisins and nuts in it, and was moist and crumbly and quite filling. We split the piece and I still had to take some home.
Everyday Kitchen is the perfect spot to bring visitors: it’s inviting and hip, the food is good, and there’s enough variety on the menu that everyone can find something they like.
