Free fungal feast happening April 15th

Beer. Soy Sauce. Citric Acid. Wine. Cheese. Bread. What do all of these foods and countless others have in common? If you answered that they are made with fungus, you’d be right!

University of Illinois Extension Educator, Diane Plewa, will share different types of fungi, some historical uses of fungi, and how we interact with them daily without knowing it. Participants will enjoy a fungal feast featuring samples of different kinds of food prepared with fungi.

Join the Champaign County Master Gardeners for a FUNgal evening. This program is free and open to the public. It’s a big world out there where fungi are concerned! Join us on April 15th at 7 p.m. at the Extension Auditorium (Champaign County Extension Office 801 N. Country Fair Drive, Suite D Champaign, IL 61821) to learn more about this fascinating subject.
