Expressions art show was a trip

I went to the Institute 4 Creativity last night to check out the Expressions show. It was very dreamy, psychedelic, and sounded somewhat like a horror film. The group of artists were in the middle of the room performing while guests could walk around, watch the performance in the middle, and also enjoy the light show around the perimeter of the room. Having this sort of set up allowed viewers to interact more with the artists.

Check out the artists online:

The light show varied in content. At times, it would show a live feed of the artists performing, but warped in color and speed of video. Other times, it would be shapes of color. The sounds coming from the speakers sounded like aliens trying to make contact — and they might have. A local painter, Grace Savina, performed a live painting during the show.

People stood, watched, talked, moved around all while the artists played with our sensory. Cover was $5 and no outside drink was allowed. It was fun. Check out the video.
