EDDIE MONEY TO HEADLINE THE 2014 URBANA SWEETCORN FESTIVAL
URBANA—The Urbana Business Association is pleased to announce that Eddie Money will headline the 2014 Urbana Sweetcorn Festival. He will perform on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 9:15 to 10:45 p.m. on the Miller Main Stage, located in the courthouse parking lot at 101 E. Main Street.
Eddie Money is an American rock musician, whose work includes “Two Tickets to Paradise” and the Grammy-nominated Ronnie Spector duet “Take Me Home Tonight,” as well as a number of additional top 40 hit songs. His discography consists of eleven studio albums—four of which are platinum-certified, two live albums and seven compilation albums.
Also performing on the Main Stage include local and regional acts Candy Foster and the Shades of Blue, 90’s Daughter, Feudin Hillbillys, Decadents and Brushville.
Now in its 39th year, the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival is a two day celebration of food, live music, arts and crafts and of course, sweet corn. The festival will take place Friday, Aug. 22 from 5 to 11 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 22 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
“One of the hardest things about working on this year’s festival was keeping our headliner under wraps. Due to a radius clause with our performer, we were not allowed to announce Eddie until now. We’re excited to finally tell you who we got this year after keeping it quiet for weeks.” — Cynthia Chandler, executive director of the UBA.
