Dancing Dog, the vegan restaurant in Urbana, will close for good by the end of next week. It’s been open for nearly eight years.
Per the Facebook post (read text below; emphasis ours), the restaurant will have the following hours:
After 7 ¾ years in business, Linda and I have made the decision to close Dancing Dog permanently. We make this decision with sadness, as we still firmly believe in veganism, but feel this is the right decision for us at this time.
We want to thank all of our loyal customers. It’s been our pleasure to support the existing local vegan community as best we could and to be here for people just exploring veganism.
We would very much like to thank our current crew – Anastasia, Quinn, Scout, Manuella, Eva & Elle – and thank them for their hard work & dedication, their talent and their patience in navigating these trying times since April 2020.
We’ll be open for lunch service – Tuesday, June 28 through Saturday, July 2. We will not have Burrito night Friday. We will do our last blow-out Pizza night Saturday PM.
Moving into next week, we’ll be open Tuesday through Friday or until we run out of food and other products.
Most menu items this week will be 25%-ish off our regular prices, all sodas marked down 25%. Ketchup will be marked down to $3.50 a bottle.
Further into July, we intend to have a fire sale of each and every item in the restaurant. Stay tuned for further information on that. AND – we are hoping to compile our most popular recipes into a Dancing Dog cookbook – stay tuned!
