Community Foundation of East Central Illinois distributed $116,000 to 26 nonprofits through their Community Commitment Grants. It’s the most they’ve ever given in their 50 years of existence. The grants are funded primarily through donor endowment funds, and are meant to be used for “purchase of durable goods or capital items not typically covered by other granting bodies.” A committee of community members and CFECI board members select recipients from organizations that have applied. Here are this year’s grant awardees:
