We announced back in March that Common Ground Food Co-Op is planning to open a new location in Downtown Champaign. When that happened, Common Ground mentioned that they would be looking to bring 900 new owners on board by September to raise equity dollars for the new store.
To help get the ball rolling, Common Ground has started an Owner Drive to incentivize locals to become new owners. The team has put together a pretty bonkers list of monthly prizes that new owners will be entered to win once they sign up. Prizes include a Market Monday meal from bacaro and giveaways from local farms to help folks stock up on fresh goods for the summer. The best part about these monthly giveaways is that signing up early allows new owners more opportunities to win prizes.
Common Ground hasn’t forgotten about the current owners, either. They’ve incentivized referrals from current owners and the gifts include gift cards, items from Common Ground, and opportunities to be featured in “owners only” drawings.
It’s the perfect time of the year to stockpile fresh produce and goods, and there’s no better way to get ready to stock up than by supporting the expansion efforts of a great local establishment. It looks like they’re well on their way:
