When this week’s Latin American Film Festival concludes, the Art Theater Co-op will roll out yet another crowd-pleasing lineup, including an under-the-radar indy comedy and an all-time horror classic.
First off, the Art will feature In a World…, a critically-lauded comedy about the highly competitive (who knew?) world of movie trailer voiceover. This is the feature directorial debut of Lake Bell, a popular young actress who also stars in the film alongside such impressive comedy performers as Demetri Martin, Tig Notaro, Rob Corddry, Ken Marino, and Nick Offerman.
In a World… will play Friday at 4:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. These showtimes will repeat Saturday with the addition of a 2:00 p.m. show; then, on Sunday, at 2:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. The movie will continue the following week.
On Friday and Saturday nights, by the way, you can enjoy the best haunted house movie ever made: Ridley Scott’s sci-fi masterpiece Alien. You say you’ve seen it before? Big deal. Go see it on the big screen and scream your head off. Because at the Art, unlike in space, everybody can hear you scream.
