City of Urbana Announces 2014 Urbana Arts Grant Recipients

The City of Urbana Public Arts Commission is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2014 Urbana Arts Grants. Created in 2009, the Urbana Arts Grants Program makes funding available to artists, artist teams, organizations, businesses, and festival presenters for projects that enrich the lives of residents and visitors in Urbana. Applications are evaluated based on artistic quality, community integration, and project feasibility.

In 2014, the sixth funding cycle of the program, 40 applications were received requesting more than $138,000. Sponsored by the City of Urbana and the Urbana Business Association through the Business Backs the Arts initiative, grants have been awarded to the 32 projects listed below, with funding totaling to $47,500. To recognize these grant recipients, an Announcement Celebration and Reception will be held from 5:30–7 p.m. on Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 at Pizza M in Urbana – 208 W. Main St.
