Today, it was announced that the United States Small Business Administration would be visiting Champaign to present $100,000 in total awards – $50,000 for each the City of Champaign and Research Park’s EnterpriseWorks. The City is winning a prize due to Champaign being named one of the SBA’s 28 “Startup In A Day” winners, whereas EnterpriseWorks was named one of four “Growth Accelerator Fund Competition” winners.
These prizes are meant to boost small business growth, and with two different prizes being presented, there’s a lot to be excited about.
If you want to check out the presentation, it’s taking place tomorrow, September 16th at 10 AM in the EnterpriseWorks Atrium, located at 60 Hazelwood Drive in Champaign. The presentation will feature speeches from Champaign Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen, SBA Regional Administrator Marianne Markowitz, and EnterpriseWorks director Laura Frerichs.
