If you’ve been missing in-person community events at Japan House, this is a great opportunity to get reacquainted. Arigatou no Kokoro, their fall open house, is happening this Sunday, October 17th from 12 to 4 p.m. Arigatou no Kokoro means “with a thankful heart”.
This year’s open house will be outside for those who choose to attend in person, and there will also be an online component. If you would like to attend in person, then you need to purchase a ticket for $5. A limited amount of tickets will be sold, so be sure to get yours soon.
The day’s activities — featuring martial arts, cultural arts, dance and Japanese tea ceremonies — are scheduled hour by hour, and you will be purchasing a ticket for a specific hour. At the top of each hour, there will be a presentation highlighting the past, present, and future of Japan House.
This event is also an opportunity for the community to hear about the Ogura-Sato Annex, set to begin construction soon. You can donate to the project here.
All of the day’s festivities will be viewable online through the Japan House website, YouTube channel, and Facebook page.
