Champaign Mayor and Councilman are holding office hours this Saturday

For those of you who like to have accessible elected officials, which I’m guessing are most of you (ahem, Rodney Davis), you’re in luck this weekend. The City of Champaign‘s Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen and Councilman Matthew Gladney will be hosting open office hours this Saturday at Panera Bread (1765 W Kirby Ave, Champaign) starting at 10 am.

For more information on this unique opportunity, check out the official press release below:

Champaign Council Member Gladney and Mayor Feinen hold office hours:

On April 15, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM At Large Champaign City Council Member Matthew Gladney and Mayor Deb Feinen will be holding office hours at Panera Bread located at the Old Farm Shops, 1765 W Kirby Ave, Champaign, IL 61821. The purpose of the office hours is to provide Champaign citizens with an added opportunity to ask questions and provide input on any City issue outside of the setting of a more formal City Council Meeting.

Council Member Gladney stated, “I work hard at being accessible to my constituents and Saturday’s office hours provide another opportunity for people to speak with me individually about City government.”

Mayor Feinen added, “I welcome the chance to talk with citizens about the exciting work happening at the City of Champaign and to hear their comments and questions about City government.”

Saturday’s office hours will be open until 11:00 AM but both the Mayor and Council Member are willing to stay later if there are citizens waiting to be heard. The parties plan to hold additional office hours in the next few months at different locations throughout the City. Look for future announcements as to time and place of those meetings.
