GET YOUR PASSPORT TO EXPLORE CAMPUSTOWN
DURING 13 THURSDAYS THIS SUMMER
Champaign — The Champaign Center Partnership invites the public to explore Campustown during 13 Thursdays, its summertime promotion featuring weekly deals, discounts and specials at participating Campustown businesses running all day, every Thursday from May 24 through August 16, 2018.
“Summer is the perfect time to visit Campustown,” stated Erik Riha, Marketing Director at the Illini Union and 13 Thursdays Committee Chair. “It’s less busy when the university isn’t in session, and businesses are running some great specials to encourage local residents to come out and try something new.”
Among the featured discounts are: buy 2 cookies, get 1 free at The Cookie Jar; $1 off any drink at BrewLab Coffee; and buy 1 select Illini T-shirt get 2 free at Gameday Spirit. More than 20 businesses are offering deals and discounts during 13 Thursdays this year. All deals are listed on ChampaignCenter.com, posted in businesses and printed in a new 13 Thursdays passport that will debut on May 24.
“We are really excited to offer the first-ever 13 Thursdays passport,” stated Genevieve Kirk, Executive Director of the Champaign Center Partnership. “What better way to explore the international flavor of Campustown than a summertime passport full of discounts and deals.”
Passports will be available for free, while supplies last, at all participating businesses starting May 24 and a printable PDF will be posted on ChampaignCenter.com. Individuals are encouraged to bring their passport to participating businesses during 13 Thursdays and get it stamped each time they redeem a deal. Participants who collect at least 13 stamps in their passport by the end of the summer can turn it in for a chance to win gift cards and prizes from Campustown businesses, including a $250 grand prize gift card from the Illini Union Bookstore.
One-hour free parking validation tickets for the Campus Center Public Parking Deck will be available for individuals who patronize participating businesses during 13 Thursdays. More information about 13 Thursdays is available at ChampaignCenter.com.
