If you’re shopping or dining locally in C-U this holiday season, you’re in luck – both the City of Champaign and the City of Urbana have announced some sweet (and in some cases, totally free) deals starting this week.
In Urbana, up to two hours of parking will be free at the Downtown Urbana parking garage (111 W. Main St.) between Thanksgiving Day and New Year’s Day.
In Champaign, those who spend more than $5 at a Downtown Champaign business during December will be eligible for a free voucher for up to 4 hours of time at the Hill Street Parking Deck. For more info, check out their press release below:
Free Parking in the Hill Street Parking Deck During December
Champaign – During the month of December, the City of Champaign will offer free parking in the Hill Street Parking Deck, as a thank you for patronizing Downtown businesses. People who spend $5.00 or more at any Downtown business or restaurant are eligible for one free visit in the parking deck, up to four hours on the same day as their purchase. The offer is limited to one free visit in the deck per day between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. As always, parking in the deck is free on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Hill Street Parking Deck is located at the corner of Hill and Randolph Streets. Customers will need to provide proof of their same day purchase to the cashier in the booth at the Hill Street exit to receive their free parking.
The Hill Street Deck has over 300 visitor parking spaces making it easy and convenient for people to visit Downtown during the holidays.More information on the Hill Street Parking Deck is available on the City’s web site at www.champaignil.gov/parking.
