Similarly to pretty much every other festival, C-U Folk & Roots Festival was held virtually in 2020. Now that fall looks a little more promising with the continued vaccine rollout, they’ve announced the dates for this year’s festival: October 21-23.
Naturally, they are cautiously optimistic about hosting in-person shows, but that remains to be seen based on the guidance from the CDC and the C-U Public Health District. Thankfully, October is a ways off, so there’s time between now and then to see how things move.
Relive a bit of the 2019 festival here, and read their statement below.
Holy cow, the 13th annual C-U Folk and Roots Festival will be held October 21-23, 2021. At this time, we are hoping to be able to plan a primarily in-person festival. Last year’s virtual festival exceeded all expectations, and we’re looking forward to carrying that momentum into the new year. We will absolutely design the festival in accordance with State of Illinois regulations and the C-U Department of Public Health guidelines, keeping the safety and health of our community as the highest priority. Watch this space for updates, keep wearing your masks, and get those vaccinations!
