Busey is excited to celebrate service — taking action and solving problems in our community — during National Volunteer Month in April. Community Promise Month encourages Busey associates to volunteer their time and talents to organizations that fuel their passion for helping others. More than two dozen events are planned to support charitable organizations, including: Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon, Courage Connection, Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club of Champaign-Urbana, The Habitat Restore, The Phoenix and TIMES Center.
On April 11th from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Busey will kick off National Volunteer Month and Community Promise Month by participating in Community & Campus Day of Service in Great West Hall of Memorial Stadium at the University of Illinois. Busey associates will team up with faculty, staff and community members to package 148,000 meals for food banks to be distributed to families in need in Champaign-Urbana.
“Community Promise Month is about inspiring and encouraging people to create change through teamwork,” says Lori Hunt, VP & Retail Market Manager at Busey. “Since its inception in 2012, Busey associates have volunteered more than 3,500 hours in April alone, and we look forward to contributing even further in 2015.”
