If you don’t have plans for the morning of Friday, September 27th, consider breakfasting with political activist, former vice presidential candidate, professor, and all-around badass Angela Davis at the University YMCA. A $50 ticket — the proceeds of which go to the YMCA’s and C-U Citizens for Peace and Justice’s social justice work — gets you food and access to this two-hour event. Later, at noon, Professor Davis will speak about abolishing the prison-industrial complex as part of the University’s Friday Forum lecture series on mass incarceration. Her talk, like all Friday Forum lectures, is free.
