This coming Tuesday (March 4th), voting for a bike referendum will take place for University of Illinois students. The referendum will cover University funding issues toward bike-related campus projects — such as the Campus Bike Shop, and more biking on campus. Voting will take place online (vote.illinois.edu) from 12:00 a.m. March 4th to 11:59 p.m. March 5th.
Funding would come from a “bike fee” the University would require students to pay. No word about the amount of the fee has been said. Though details are slim, this referendum could be something to keep an eye on.
