If, like me, you’ve been pondering the short and long-term impacts of the pandemic on the visual and performing arts, you’ll definitely want to check out this five-week series of dialogues featuring Illinois faculty and artists from a variety of disciplines.
Organized by the Center for Advanced Study at Illinois, The Arts in the time of Pandemic will explore the most challenging questions facing artists right now. “How has the creative and performing arts community adapted to the strictures of social distancing and the apparent need to rely on digital platforms? How do practices that require physical presence and/or contact proceed?”
The series kicks of on Wednesday, September 23rd at 4 p.m. with Genesee Spridco, Aaron Muñoz, Sara Hook, Endalyn Taylor, and Catherine Prendergast examining the impact of COVID-19 on Psh*tter and November Dance.
