The University YMCA will host Los Condenados Huastecos, an acclaimed Mexican folk trio, to perform in celebration of Immigrant Justice Month. The Chicago-based trio performing traditional Mexican folk music has performed at cultural and educational events throughout the Midwest, drawing both crowds and rave reviews. October has been declared Immigrant Justice Month by the Allies of Faith, an interfaith coalition of local congregations involved in the Champaign-Urbana Immigration Forum, which is working to make our local community a welcoming and loving space for all our neighbors, regardless of the color of their skin, the languages they speak, their country of origin, or their immigration status.
