An Illinois grad is blasting off into space tomorrow

Anyone else a little jealous? I wouldn’t mind getting the hell off this planet for awhile.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering is hosting a virtual watch party to view Mike Hopkins, a 1992 grad, command a mission to the International Space Station. The party begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, and the launch is scheduled to happen at 6:49 p.m. The bonus of joining this watch party is that you get to hear commentary and Q&A with a panel of people that know what they’re talking about.

The livestream of the launch can be viewed here, and you can read more about the mission here.
