A bit late to the game on this one as far as posting it in the SPlog here, but it’s worth a mention if you are unaware. As you know, American Football recently reunited, and they’re performing at the 10th installment of the Pygmalion Festival here in Septmeber. Their first show in 15 years — kind of a big deal not only around these parts, but nationally and internationally.
They’ve recently released their video for the lead track on their self-titled debut (which was recently reissued on Polyvinyl), “Never Meant”, and it features the same house that graces the cover of said debut. Exile on Main Street Records is in there at one point, plus some contributors to Smile Politely — videography work by Sean O’Connor and Sam Geneser, as well as featuring Jessie Knoles at one point, a contributor to the magazine in several ways — are all included. Pretty neat after 15 years that they made the video happen.
