Deborah Caldwell-Stone, Deputy Director of the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom will discuss the USA Patriot Act at the annual meeting of the Champaign County chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union on Sunday, April 5 at Milo’s Restaurant, 2870 S. Philo Road in Urbana. The meeting will begin with brunch served at 11:30 a.m.
Also at the annual meeting, the chapter will present the W. Ellision Chalmers Award for service to the cause of civil rights and civil liberties to Kate Gorman, Urbana Public Television (UPTV) Station Manager. The Horace Norton Award for service to the ACLU chapter will be presented to Steven and Esther Portnoy.
