A U of I committee has recommended changes to sexual harassment policy

Back in January, we wrote about a reporter with Illinois Newsroom, Rachel Otwell, who was tapped by Pro Publica and NPR Illinois to investigate sexual harassment policies at state colleges and universities. Some of the resulting stories focused on University of Illinois professors whose records did not reflect violations of sexual misconduct policy.

Now, according to NPR Illinois, a committee of professors and administrators, asked by Provost Andreas Cangellaris to “review current policies, and recommend sanctions and other ‘supportive measures’ to respond to policy violations. He also asked the committee to identify best practices regarding the confidentiality of investigations.”
