Two dispensaries in Champaign-Urbana will have recreational marijuana for sale starting tomorrow, January 1st, at 6 a.m., as Illinois is legalizing recreational marijuana state wide. Sunnyside in Champaign (formerly known as Phoenix Botanical), is owned by Cresco Labs, which owns a few other dispensaries in Illinois, and NuMed in Urbana both have licenses to sell and will begin to do so bright and early tomorrow.
Both dispensaries have FAQs that describe the process and answer basic questions that you might be asking yourself already: What hours are they open? What do I need to bring? Is it cash only? Those types of things. Of course, you need to be 21+ to purchase, and you should expect a long line if you’re trying to snag some things tomorrow.
