Champaign Cycle will host the 4th Annual Community Used Bike Sale to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County, May 4, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and May 5, 12 noon–4:00 p.m. 506 S. Country Fair Drive, Champaign.
Hey Champaign-Urbana, want a little extra cash in your pocket or a new ride?
Champaign Cycle needs your used bike. Do you need a good used bike or need to get rid of one in your garage? Right now is the time to get your bicycle to Champaign Cycle to be included in this year’s sale. Bicycles will be accepted for the sale Mon., April 15–Wed., May 1, 2013. Please bring the bicycle you want included in the sale to Champaign Cycle during that period. The sale starts May 4, so bicycles cannot be accepted after May 1, so that we have time to prepare the bicycles for the sale.
Peter Davis, owner of Champaign Cycle, came up with the idea, “to benefit people who had bikes they didn’t want and people who were looking for a good used bike. I wanted it to also benefit our community and thought Habitat was an ideal beneficiary because they are a local charity, they provide a basis need (housing) to the people in our community, and they have the Restore to sell any leftover donated bikes from the sale,” he said. “It’s been a good match.”
Champaign Cycle will inspect all bikes, and they will be in good operating condition. A checklist detailing the condition of each bike will be attached to the bike. Representatives from the bike shop will answer questions about the bikes for sale.
In 2012, champaing Cycle sold 125 bikes in great condition and raised $6,000 for Habitat of Humanity of Champaign County. Help us to make this year an even greater success.
