It is a truth universally acknowledged that an artist in possession of a creative spirit must be in want of a fortune.
You are fortunate enough to live in a community with a thriving arts community and the desire to help support its artists, and the 2016 cycle makes funding available to:
- Individuals: Grants for emerging and professional artists
- Group Projects: Arts Grants for groups, troupes and ensembles
- Nonprofit Organizations: Grants for tax-exempt 501(c) organizations
- Urbana Festivals: Grants supporting arts festival presenters
Eligible bachelors disciplines include visual arts, music, performing arts, literary arts, design, multidisciplinary arts, and new media. The only catch is that projects must enrich the lives of Urbana residents and visitors.
So during the downtime that holidays tend to bring, feed your muse, brainstorm, get inspired. Then check out the guidelines, download the application, and get everything together by 5 p.m. on February 12, 2016.
