The city of Champaign public works has ordered the removal of 79 trees in the downtown area due to “a disease of some sort.” This one came down on Vine St. close between State and Randolph.
When asked what disease it was, the huge man with an even huger chainsaw said, “Man, I dunno what the fuck it is. All I know is that this one was a bitch to get down.” He wished to remain anonymous but estimated that the tree was around 125 years old.
