As Donald Mabbott framed it earlier this week:
The Champaign City Council took a “straw” poll at Tuesday night’s meeting — a fitting metaphor since their nearly-unanimous, informal vote is the next step in lifting the ban prohibiting backyard hens in the city limits.
The Champaign City Council backed it up, 8 in favor, 1 not in favor.
This brings us to our question this week. Regarding these chicken coops, and allowing them to exist in the backyards of any Champaign citizen who wants them — will it be significant in any way?
