Tomorrow the bands will hit the outdoor stage at Pygmalion Music Festival for what should be the biggest part of the festival this year. The lineup will be spectacular and the national and local bands will bring the people out for what should be an excellent time. Smile Politely is a presenting sponsor of the festival, but this show in particular, along with WPCD.
As we stated before in our extensive preview and interview with Jake Metz and Jack Maples of Urbana Basement, we’d be bringing the video cameras and mics out of the basement for our Smile Politely Show Series installment for this month. Since Saturday is the big day, we decided to take the local route for this debut video.
Vivian McConnell of Grandkids and Santah was kind enough to take the time to shoot this video above for to start the series out in a beautiful way, performing a track in an equally gorgeous setting. We should be doing this for all the SP Show Series Shows from this point forward, so it’s a nice way to kick this thing off.
You can catch McConnell and Grandkids at the Highdive Outdoor Annex tomorrow afternoon, along with all the other studs playing, including Grizzly Bear, Dinosaur Jr., Cloud Nothings, plus a ton of locals, including New Ruins, Common Loon, and Evil Tents. Don’t miss out.
Big thanks to McConnell and UB’s Metz and Maples for putting this whole thing together. Make sure you head over and visit Urbana Basement’s website to see all the great stuff they have going down over there. Stay tuned for next month’s installment of our show series as well.
