David and Adam Moss are The Brother Brothers, and make their way back through Urbana this week at the Iron Post. They have ties to the area, David going to U of I to get his degree in cello performance, and they just released their debut record Some People I Know a few weeks back.

Canopy Club’s 20th anniversary celebration rolls on this week with jazz/funk/electronic duo Big Gigantic. You’ve probably seen them on a bunch of Summer Camp Festival bills over the years, and certainly they will fill up Canopy Club on Tuesday night.

Blackbird is throwing down on Wednesday night for actual Halloween, and one of the best local bands doing it at the moment is Sun Stereo. Kelly McMorris’ funk band just put out a new track “Eleanor” earlier this month, so check that one out, and wear your costume to this one on Wednesday.

Jazz outfit Jim Pryor Trio hit Stage 5 for Krannert Center’s Uncorked series on Thursday night. This free show features award winning pianist Jim Pryor, Jon Small on bass, and Joel Spencer on drums. A fun happy hour show on Thursday night at KCPA, indeed.

Washington — all three have performed solo and as New Souls, and in a bunch of other forms as well in the scene for quite some time — and their blend of soul, funk, R&B will be served up this weekend.
