One hell of a rock show lined up here at Cowboy Monkey on Thursday night. And when I say “rock”, I mean it. The Life and Times were in Champaign back in early 2012 on the heels of their most recent release No One Loves You Like I Do, which is just a hell of an album. Go listen to their other albums too, and see this show while you’re at it. Local rockers Withershins and Thundertruck fit perfectly within this bill. Cowboy Monkey will be a loud, loud place on Thursday.

Former locals and now Chicago folks Santah are familiar faces to the C-U scene, and its good to see them back down in this part of the state on Thursday night. They last released their terrific You’re Still A Lover last year, which I took a look at when it came out here on SP. They’re joined by Jonathan Childer’s new outfit Blank Range out of Nashville. You might remember Jon from his time here in town, as well as his work with The Leadership before they moved to Nashville.

Psychedelic garage rock band out of St. Louis Troubador Dali head back to C-U after they made their way through at Mike ‘N Molly’s last summer. That was quite the show, and this one should be just as good on Friday night. They’re joined by Chicago outfits WitchFeet and Hot Cops, as well as Louisville’s Tender Mercy.

Grandkids return to the stage for their first performance in C-U since last month’s Pygmalion show at Memphis on Main. This time around, they’ll take those lovely Timeshare tracks and showcase them at Mike ‘N Molly’s. They’ll be joined by a few others, including Sunjacket, Sleepcomesdown, and locals The Fights. This is a good one, folks.
