EDITOR’S PICK: SKY FERREIRA, SINGLE PLAYER
Foellinger Auditorium ($15 students/$25 public) — Thursday, October 23rd at 8 p.m.
In the first installment of Star Courses’ shows for the semester, the student organization brings in Sky Ferreira, who has had a pretty crazy last couple of years in music. Last year, she released the very good Night Time, My Time as her debut record after an EP the previous year. That record propelled her into the limelight, and featured some great tracks within the record as a whole — notably “I Blame Myself”, “Heavy Metal Heart” and “You’re Not The One” — amongst others. Do yourself a favor and check it out before her performance at Foellinger this week. Though with success comes some lower points at times: She had some negative things come up with her personal life, got injured touring with Miley Cyrus and Iconca Pop, cancelled dates with Vampire Weekend, and more. Local outfit Single Player will open the show.
