I don’t know much about The Chainsmokers, but Louis The Child has been steadily emerging as the best young DJ duo in Chicago, and that alone should make this show worth watching.

University of Illinois professor of piano, William Heiles, probably has the coolest job title of anyone in the world. On Wednesday, he’ll be tickling the keys at the Krannert Center. Seeing one of the world’s foremost pianists is a relatively rare opportunity, and yet another reason by living in Champaign-Urbana is consistently awesome.

Coming off of a spooky Halloween show at Mike N Molly’s to end October, Resinater return to C-U’s show calendar with a Thursday night rager at Thee Deathtower, perhaps the most aptly-named venue for this band. Anybody But The Cops wins an honorable mention award for the best band name in this week’s Overture.

The Autocorrect incorporate a goofy/awesome robotic talking track with their show, and as someone who has seen it, I can certainly say that it’s one of my favorite things to witness in C-U’s live music environment. Couple that with newly-formed Slick Lisp, and you’ve got quite the night at MnM’s.

Will Rogers is something of a local staple/legend, and on Saturday, the City Center will be honoring him by having a reunion of sorts for The Will Rogers Band. I’ve also been told that all kinds of special guests will be in the building Saturday, so don’t miss it.

The marathon Guitarkestra is another one of those things that is fairly unique to Champaign-Urbana. It’s a true orchestra of guitars (and two drum-sets), and it’s really something to take in. This weekend, their orchestra hits The Art Theater, an extremely unique venue. For five bucks, you can’t beat this.
